Barrett Firearms secured a U.S. Army Contracting Command contract for “M107 Long Range Sniper Rifle variants, spare parts, accessories and training” on Sept. 23. Barely a week later, the company signed another agreement, this one with a United States-allied nation for the purchase of its MRAD Extreme Long Range (MRADELR) precision rifle—the first international order for the long-range, semi-auto platform.

Specific details of the contract with the undisclosed nation were not disclosed, although Barrett did confirm the order will be fulfilled and delivered within the year. The international agreement is the second in just 30 days for the company. Norway ordered Barrett M107A1s early in September.

The MRADELR is part of the company’s MRAD family of rifles. It features user-changeable barrels and calibers, which allows it to adapt to a wide range of operational needs. The gun is also available in multiple calibers, including .416 Barrett, and provides superior performance for target engagement beyond 2,000 yards. The rifle had its first public showing at the 2023 King of 2 Miles competition.

“We are honored to provide these international organizations with the tools they need to secure their defenses and protect their interests,” said Barrett CEO Bryan James. “The MRADELR is yet another testament to our commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of long-range precision firearms.”

The firm-fixed-price agreement with the U.S. Army is valued at $14,999,500. Estimated completion date is Sept. 22, 2029.

Barrett is a world leader in long-range, large-caliber, precision-rifle design and manufacturing. The firm’s products are currently in use by civilians, sport shooters, law enforcement agencies, the United States military and more than 80 U.S. Department of State-approved countries across the globe. The company is based in Murfreesboro, TN, and became part of the NIOA Group in January 2023.
