The new Action Enhancement kit for the Smith & Wesson M&P45 Shield from Apex Tactical is now shipping. The kit provides users with reduced pre-travel and over-travel and reduces trigger pull weight.

The kit provides users with an Apex Action Enhancement trigger, which is designed as a direct replacement of the factory trigger and is produced with a solid aluminum body. The trigger still features a center-mounted pivoting safety bar, which maintains the same safety features found in factory models.

The Duty/Carry kit also features a machined .45 sear, a striker block spring, sear spring and a trigger return spring. The kit also features some tools to assist users with installation, like a trigger return spring installation Shield slave pin and a Talon Tactical tool.

Together, this kit works to reduce trigger pre-travel and over-travel distance by about 20 percent, along with providing users with a smoother, more consistent trigger pull. The trigger also reduces reset distance and provides a more tactile trigger reset point. In addition, total trigger pull is reduced by approximately two pounds. The Apex Duty/Carry kit works to provide owners with a trigger pull in the 5-5.5 pound range.

The Action Enhancement kit works with all Smith & Wesson M&P45 Shield pistols. It is not designed for use in 9 mm- and .40 S&W-caliber M&P Shield handguns. The suggested retail price on the kit is $139.95.
