Remington Ammunition has renewed its support of youth shooting sports as a Platinum-Level Sponsor of the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP), a popular program for youths that includes .22 handguns and rifles, as well at 10-meter air rifle, air pistol and sport pistol. The program, according to its website, allows the athletes to “grow in a sport that offers a true level playing field with no such thing as being ‘benched,’ while developing skills and friendships that will last a lifetime.”
“Remington is always proud to support SASP,” said Joel Hodgdon, Remington marketing director. “This organization gives the next generation the skills they need to reach the podium both in competition and in life.”
"The continued support of Platinum Sponsor, Remington is a testament to the growth of youth shooting sports in our country,” said Rick Leach, SASP national director, “Current athletes in the program benefit tremendously from Remington as a Platinum Sponsor, just as the generations before them have.”
The industry’s focus on the future isn’t exclusive to rifles and handguns, either. Federal, another famed firm under the Vista Outdoor corporate umbrella, has again signed on as a Silver Level Sponsor of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP).
“As SCTP continues to grow while offering a safe, competitive and educational program across the country, Federal is happy to extend our support to the organization,” said Jon Zinnel, Sr., manager of Youth Shooting Sports Programs for Federal Ammunition. “Clay target sports continue to thrive and providing SCTP members with the highest quality ammunition made right here in America is just one way we can support the growth and support American jobs.”
“We are extremely happy to have Federal involved in the support of our program,” said Tom Wondrash, SCTP National Director. “With the continued strong growth of our program creating opportunities for young competitors, the support of industry and sponsors like Federal help us continue to create that environment for youth to succeed. We appreciate Federal’s commitment and support of youth shooting now and for years to come!”
