The NRA Personal Protection Expo, sponsored by Kel-Tec, Ruger and Shooting Illustrated, takes place Sept. 6 to 8, 2019, at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, TX. The three-day educational and interactive experience is dedicated to individuals interested in increasing their knowledge and skills of personal protection, concealed carry and home defense.
More than 120 seminars and workshops will be conducted, featuring the best personal-protection and concealed-carry practices taught and demonstrated by leading experts and instructors from across the country. In addition, the exhibit hall will feature some of the finest firearm and accessory companies showcasing their guns and gear tailored for self-defense.
Experts sharing their knowledge and experience during the educational sessions will cover a wide array of topics. “Draw Time—The Science of the Draw & What’s Fast or Fast Enough” takes an analytic approach as it dissects how long it takes to present that concealed handgun from a variety of carry positions and clothing options. The session takes place all three days and is conducted by Cole McCulloch, veteran and director of NRA Competitive Shooting. “The Aging Defender” seminar is also daily and conducted by Dr. Joe Logar, a doctor of physical therapy who has served as the national manager of the NRA Adaptive Shooting Program since 2015.
There’s something for everyone, including “Edged Weapons for Everyday Carry,” “Bulletproof Mind for the Armed Citizen,” “An Armed Citizen and How to Interact with Law Enforcement,” home defense, situational awareness, trauma training, “Refuse to be a Victim” and more. The expo’s popular Concealed Carry Fashion Show, in which concealment clothing and gear designed for men and women will be modeled, is also back.
More information on the Expo can be found at NRAPersonalProtectionExpo.com. General show admission is $30 and is valid for the entire weekend. In addition to discounts for existing NRA Members, those who join NRA at the door will receive free admission.
