With direction from some of today's top handgun hunters, engineers developed the all-new Nosler Model 48 Custom Handgun using the company's popular Model 48 bolt-action rifle as a starting point. The Nosler M48 NCH pistol is one of the more-unique firearm introductions of 2018, providing handgunners with a single-shot option built to take advantage of specific scenarios.

"Over the last 40 years, I have shot every conceivable configuration of single-shot handguns, including high-end custom rigs. The new Nosler handgun will keep up with the very best of them” said Mark Hampton, experienced handgun hunter and author of "Handgun Hunting: How to Travel the World in Pursuit of Wild Game." "In my experience, I have found this pistol to be extremely accurate, well-designed and user-friendly. The NCH will be most welcome with handgun hunters, target and steel shooters, or anyone looking to add an exciting dimension to their shooting experience."

Each Nosler Model 48 Custom Handgun is outfitted with the company's proven M48 short-action receiver, which is paired with a high-quality, heavy-contour Shilen barrel machined from 416 stainless steel. The standard barrel length included on the NCH pistol is 15 inches, but options ranging from 12 to 18 inches are available, depending on end-user specifications. Each barrel ships with a threaded muzzle designed for use with aftermarket muzzle devices and sound suppressors.

The action is set into a stock CNC-machined from a single piece of 6061-T6 billet aluminum and offers a mid-grip design that's rigid, bedded and free-floats the barrel for enhanced accuracy. The unique design of the stock allows for the use of all standard AR-15 grips, enabling owners to choose the grip design that best fits them. The pistol ships with an installed Hogue Overmolded grip, complete with a textured rubber surface and finger grooves. Also found inside the machined stock is a Nosler-designed trigger, providing users with a two-stage mechanism that can be adjusted for pull weight, travel and engagement. A cross-bolt safety locks the trigger into place and prevents movement when activated.

Overall, the Nosler Model 48 Custom Handgun measures 21 inches long and weighs in at 5.4 pounds, not including optic or mounts. The stock is treated with a customizable Cerakote finish, and caliber options are available in 22 Nosler, 24 Nosler, 6 mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7 mm-08 Rem. and .308 Win. The suggested retail price on the Model 48 NCH is $2,495.
