DoubleStar partnered up with Darren Sirois, founder of TCT Knives, to offer the new DoubleStar Lite-Fighter EX Combat Utility Knife, built for durability and ruggedness to provide consumers with a blade ready to tackle any field task.
The Lite-Fighter Combat Utility Knife is inspired by the famous Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife used by commando units in WWII and features a 4.75-inch Nitro-V steel blade, which is an improved variant of the AEB-L steel produced by New Jersey Steel Baron. The full-tang blade is paired with black G10 handles featuring a heavily textured surface, measuring 0.187-inch thick and 4.5 inches long.
Measuring in at an overall length of 9.5 inches, the DoubleStar Lite-Fighter EX Combat Utility Knife has a tumbled surface finish on the steel, and the overall weight of the blade setup is 12.4 ounces. The knife ships with a polymer sheath made from 0.08-inch thick sheets of durable Boltaron material.
The blade is designed to tackle a range of tasks, covering everything from tactical and self-defense applications to daily use as a dependable, durable tool. The collaboration between Sirois and DoubleStar ensures that this knife has the ergonomics and necessities needed to find success as a go-to tool for consumers.
Darren Sirois, the blade's designer, spent 25 years in the U.S. military, serving in U.S. Army Rangers, Special Forces and Special Operations units. He retired from the military in 2014 as a sergeant major. His blade-making hobby developed toward the end of his military career, and Sirois currently has field-tested knives serving with military units in Afghanistan, Africa and other locations around the globe. His designs have also been featured on the hit TV show "Naked and Afraid."
The suggested retail price on the DoubleStar Lite-Fighter EX Combat Utility Knife is $219.99.
