HIVIZ Shooting Systems plans to break ground on a second manufacturing facility in April, and the company will nearly double its staff—going from 51 to 101—in the next few years.  In 2015, the company bucked outsourcing trends by bringing all external, third-party manufacturing into its new facility in Laramie, WY, a plant made possible with help from the state of Wyoming, city of Laramie and the Laramie Economic Development Agency.

In January, the state of Wyoming once again committed to support HIVIZ with a $3 million grant to build the second 20,000-square-foot facility in Laramie. It will allow the company to expand its metal-injection-molding and CNC-manufacturing capability. The firm already produces all its own products, as well as an increasing amount of OEM sights and firearm components, at the site.

“We are highly competitive,” said HIVIZ Chief Operating Officer Mike Thomas. “We have the unique capability to take a product from concept all the way through the design, engineering and manufacturing processes, then package and ship our product anywhere in the world. This—and the fact that we focus on quality, timeliness and very competitive pricing—is what is allowing us to grow so rapidly and to bring more jobs into the state of Wyoming, which we are delighted to do. This is home for is; we love it here.”

Local leaders have taken note of the company’s dedication to the local economy, too. The Laramie Chamber Business Alliance recently recognized it with the “Large Business of the Year” award during the group’s annual banquet. HIVIZ products are 100 percent made in the USA.

Some of the company’s latest innovations include a solution-resistant LitePipe, capable of surviving short-term exposure to harsh firearm-cleanup compounds known to damage fiber-optics. Its easy-to-use interchangeable color system and LITWAVE sights are also shooter favorites.
