Kimber America has begun shipping their new snub-nosed carry friendly revolver, the new Kimber K6xs. The Kimber K6xs is an alloy framed 6 shot revolver chambered for .38 Special +P cartridges. Optimized for EDC (everyday carry) and personal protection, the K6xs holds the current record for Kimber’s lightest revolver, coming in at only 15.9 ounces. Compared to other snub-nosed revolvers in the same weight class, the new Kimber K6xs is the only revolver that has a capacity of 6 rounds, as most others only hold 5 cartridges.

“The new K6xs is born from the highly successful K6s .357 Magnum revolver. It was designed to be a superior .38 Special +P concealed carry option with its smooth double action trigger pull and slim six-round profile. This is certain to be a winner among the less feature-rich, common five-round revolvers in this class.” said Ron Dudzic, the Senior Director of Product Development for Kimber,

Because this new Kimber revolver is designed around EDC, Kimber engineers and designers had the gun’s sharp edges and angles smoothed to facilitate snag-free draws and gave it an internal hammer. The rear sights of the pistol are milled into the rear of the frame while the front sight has a bold and prominent orange dot. While duty sized revolvers have fallen out of favor as go-to handguns, snub-nosed and compact framed revolvers are relevant to today and many people choose to carry them as their primary defensive pistol.
